Moai Heater Cord Cover / Gasket
thingiverse
I wanted to run the Peopoly Moai heater cord through the acrylic wall but I needed to limit the amount of UV coming in the hole I drilled. So, I created a 3-part printable cord cover/gasket that lets me run the heater cord (including ferrite bead) through a 16-18mm hole drilled in the acrylic (3/4" works fine for those without metric drill bits available). Then, I can run that through the hole in a plastic 'nut' that goes inside the acrylic. On the outside, there's a two-part plastic bolt with a thread to join with the nut inside and fits over the cord itself (which is about 4mm in diameter). You can slide the bolt through the hole you drilled in the acrylic and into the nut inside, screwing it closed. This leaves just enough space for the thickness of the acrylic, effectively blocking out any stray UV coming in if you use an opaque filament/resin to print it.
