This prehistoric carved portable was originally stored at the Museum of Antiquities in Newcastle before being relocated to its current home, Great North Museum: Hancock. It is cataloged as 'Museum of Antiquities - Unprovenanced Rock 7' within the Beckensall Archive (BA). NADRAP added this record to ERA in 2008 with a detailed description: The weathered sandstone has developed pits due to minerals being eroded from its surface. Two cups are visible, one central measuring 0.05 m by 0.05 m - 0.01 m deep and the other near an edge measuring 0.03 m by 0.03 m - 0.005 m deep. The central cup stands out more distinctly than the smaller, less clearly defined one near the edge... Pecking is evident inside the larger cup, suggesting it was created in multiple phases rather than a single sitting. ERA and BA information can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=1891. This model was generated from images taken by Dave Tuck, Caroline & Kenneth Allott (NADRAP Team 2) in May 2006. These images were part of the NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
