MN Model D90 Rock Crawler Steering Replacement
thingiverse
This is a replacement for the factory steering rod of the D90 Rock Crawler from MN Models. The original steering has a lot of play and bump steering, meaning, the models either goes up or down at the front whenever you steer left and right. This is much less with this drop-in replacement (not completely gone at maximum angles). The parts are mounted with some leftover screws of the D90 model. There are 2 ball joints which are snap-fit and work so far flawlessly for me. The servo part has to be printed with support under the ball. In my case, this surface was a little rough and I had to file it smooth. The 2 small walls on the lower ball are just for easier mounting and it does not matter if these fall of. You can mount the servo part in 2 positions on the servo-horn. I have chosen the position closer to the servo. I recommend to also adapt the original wheel knuckles and file them a little to increase the maximum steering angle. ## Print Settings I used PLA. 0.07 layer height 3 perimeters manually placed support under the lowest part of the ball.
