MMU2S Mod for Bondtech Extruder

thingiverse

This is my modification of a MMU2S unit to work seamlessly with a Bondtech (Mosquito and E3D V6) Extruder.\r\n\r\nThis mod utilizes primarily four components:\r\n- BT_Sensor_Cover_PC4-M10_MMU2_up, secured with a square nut and an M3x6 screw for optimal IR sensor calibration.\r\n- BMG_Hinge, enhanced with a long blade to significantly improve IR detection accuracy.\r\n- Cover, divided into two parts for adjustable calibration (better IR calibration).\r\n- New Adapter, modified to bring the PTFE tube closer to the filament gears.\r\n\r\nTo secure BT_Sensor_Cover_PC4-M10_MMU2_up, use a square nut and an M3x6 screw; it's designed to be moveable for calibrating the IR sensor.\r\n\r\nADVICE: For optimal results, I highly recommend using Prusa ID: 1.85 mm as both internal and external PTFE tubes with IDs of 2 or greater (some users prefer uniform ID: 3 mm). With these specifications, my MMU2S unit operates flawlessly in multimaterial mode, requiring virtually no human intervention during printing.\r\n\r\nYou will need a PC4-M10 passthrough connector; note that the PTFE tube from the MMU2S unit must be inserted about 30mm for proper function.\r\n\r\n###**UPDATES**\r\n\r\n2020/03/07:\r\n\r\n+ I've added a cover compatible with the old Bondtech V6 extruder (the one utilizing laser sensor), although only one screw can be used due to compatibility issues with the other screw.\r\n
