MMU2S MK3S Extruder Idler with bolt
thingiverse
After assembling my new MMU2S and upgrading to the MK3S, I encountered numerous issues trying to get the filament to load properly. The root cause turned out to be the faulty IR sensor in the extruder head. Following the instructions carefully, I made a minor adjustment to the idler arm by trimming it slightly, but unfortunately, I trimmed too much. I decided to come up with a more effective solution - installing a small bolt or screw into the arm to enable precise adjustments. After spending some time modeling with Fusion360, I finally achieved success! I've attached the necessary files and images for your reference. The modified design includes all the original parts along with an added M1.8 x 10mm component. To print this idler arm, use the same PETG material recommended for the MMU2S MK3S Idler Arm. Be sure to adjust your layer settings accordingly, as there's a narrow margin of error around the M1.8 hole.
