This design makes upgrading the filament path in MK3S printers with an MMU2/S straightforward. The existing magnet and ball IR sensor setup can be left intact, but the addition of this simple component prevents filament strings from accumulating in the gaps during multi-material printing. By installing it in the ball hole, you create a smooth, unobstructed path for the filament to follow without requiring reprinting the entire extruder body. This part prints flawlessly on its own, without supports, and can be used with any type of filament. Installing the component may require some finesse, as I found using small pliers to gently angle it into place from the wider opening at the top of the extruder worked best for me. Removing it is a breeze; simply use a thin edge like a knife to carefully pry it out. After successfully installing and removing this part multiple times on different MK3S printers, I can confidently attest to its ease of use and effectiveness in enhancing multi-material printing capabilities.
