prusaprinters

Edit: There is now a sensorcover with a latch for the cable connector.

To adapt my MK3 with Bondtech extruder to my MMU2S with the new IR sensor I made a new topplate with sensor housing. Included is a LED indicator to visualise the detection of filament. There is about 5mm adjustable space for the detection point of the sensor. It can be easy adjusted by one screw.

If you don't want to remove the door hinge to replace it with the one with the integrated tab there is a drill jig you can use to dril a 3mm hole to glue in a tab.
Included are topplates for M5, M6 and M10 couplers.

It's possible you have to cut a little piece of the tab to make it fit in the sensor, depending on the play of the door hinge.

You need a change in the firmware because of the hight of the Bondtech extruder.
Define Z_Max_Pos 210 to Define Z_Max_Pos205.

Parts needed: Screw M3x30, square nut M3, Nyloc nut M3, 3mm LED, resistor 560 Ohm.

Print instructions

Printed in PETG 0.2mm Layer
3-5 Perimeters
Partial Supports on the Topplate
