MMU2 filament buffer - Stand/mount
thingiverse
This is a major upgrade over the standard buffer included with the MMU2 kit. The stock buffers that come with the kit are difficult to install and make poor use of space. They require attaching them to the back of the printer, twisting the PFTE tubes in an awkward way, and generally wasting valuable space. Designed as a standalone component, this replacement for the larger s-buffer-printer part allows it to stand freely on its own or be mounted using screws. In my case, I found that mounting it greatly reduced the required space while also decreasing friction when loading filament into the MMU2 assembly. No supports are needed, and I printed it with basic grey PLA from a no-name brand. You may need to remove some loose filament from the underside screw holes. Standard M3-18 screws from the Prusa kit worked for holding the PFTE tubes in place, but you can likely use shorter ones if supplies are low. Make sure to secure your PFTE tubes first when mounting this upgrade.
