MMU2 filament buffer
thingiverse
This modification enhances the filament buffer kit that accompanies the MMU2s. I believe the original design of the buffer is overly complicated to load due to insufficient space to grasp and push the filament towards the MMU. Moreover, it's an open design allowing dust to accumulate inside the buffer and potentially contaminate the filament. So, I've designed a new buffer that reuses the acrylic plates from the original design. It now stands upright, functioning as a lid that is easy to load with filament. Required hardware includes: - 11 M3x40 screws - 11 M3 nuts - 10 M3x12 screws - Two 20x6x** rectangular magnets (1.5mm thick ones are used, but thicker or double-stacked magnets will also work). When closing the lid, ensure the filament forms an arch and slot it between the plates.
