MMU Air Buffer / Auto Rewinder

MMU Air Buffer / Auto Rewinder

I have my filament on a shelf and wanted a reliable solution for buffering the filament without too much of a printing effort. After many tries i came up with the Air & Gravity Buffer. Check out the video: https://youtu.be/sXk_YUJduSk to see it in action. Please do not forget to post a make if you are using it. I have included step+f3d files for easy remixing. The PTFE Clamp is remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467 by VincentGroenhuis, it has a perfect snap-fit. Print instructionsjust print everything flat and screw together with a M3x10 and a square nut. HotGlue the arms into the filament boxes to secure them properly. Mount PTFE Tubing as shown in the picture and run the filament through the PTFE Tubing and below your shelf. Insert some weights to pull down the filament. I used 2x M12 nuts but basically you could use anything with a hole and weight. I have printed several objects with this buffer without issues. One thing that could be improved is the drag/friction of the filament, its not moving as easy as without buffer but I'm sure this can be fixed with some fine tuning of PTFE or the parts them-self. Feel free to remix....
