MKS TFT28 Detachable Tilt Swivel Enclosure
thingiverse
This is an enclosure for the Color Touch Screen (MKS TFT28) controller. Video demo available at: https://youtu.be/Q1aLKddd5WY Detach The console uses small magnets to secure it to the swivel-base, making it easy to pick up and operate like a smartphone using thumbs. Swivel The swivel connects to a 3/8inch threaded rod or bolt via two 8x20mm bearings. A horizontal knob allows for snugging down, which can be turned mostly independent of the swivel. Tilt The stand tilts slightly downwards and quite a bit upwards, with a vertical axis knob that snugly secures it into place. Mounting: A base that slides into aluminum extrusions comes with the package. The base accepts a 3/8 inch standard bolt head. Updates: 2016-08-08 6:28 AM A previous version lacked the "Screen Holder", which has since been added to the design. Print Settings Printer: Wombot Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 25% to 80% Notes: All prints used PETG. Most were done using 3DXtech's carbon fiber PETG filament. Post-Printing Clean up involves steel-wool and a layer of clear coat. I personally like the Z lines of 3D printing, which strikes me similarly to witness marks left behind by CNC machines; it means the part was created, not stamped or molded. To finish parts, I knock down any stray bumps or warts with steel-wool. The carbon's "speckle" and print's layers can be brought out nicely with a simple layer of clear coat spray.
