Please see MKI for printed part pictures and assembly animations. The MkII boasts three key design enhancements, with the first being a critical tail fin that enables the turbine to pivot into the wind and maximize energy extraction in unpredictable conditions. The second improvement is a sturdier tower structure featuring larger bearings and a wider locating pin to support increased loads from the tail while allowing for the third enhancement - the inclusion of Split Ring Electronics. This innovative technology empowers the turbine to spin freely around the tower axis without any constraints, relocating power electronics within the tower where there's more space and easier access. The MkII necessitates the following new components: • Structure • Rear Structure • Tower Header • Nacelle This fully functional wind turbine has been meticulously designed for home manufacture, assembly, and operation with its one-of-a-kind 3D printable design. Optimized to produce a power output of 5 watts (12 volts ~0.4 amps) at 5 meters per second wind speeds, it's perfect for battery charging applications. The wind turbine features an ingenious Passive Variable Pitch (PVP) design, which maintains optimal power output by controlling the turbine's rotational speed while protecting it from hazardous over-speed conditions in winds exceeding 5 meters per second, limiting its maximum revolutions per minute. The main components of the turbine have been engineered for Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) methods using PLA plastic. An impressive 95% of ALM parts require no post-processing as they don't necessitate "print supports," reducing material usage and enhancing part finish.
