I have completed printing an upgraded extruder for my Rep2; however, I encountered issues with filament warping despite using PLA. The problem persisted even when printing with ABS. Since not purchasing Makerbot's upgrade, I tested various modifications and achieved the best results so far. I have been printing for a couple of weeks, with excellent outcomes. The modification involves placing an M3 nut in the left hole (right for left-handed users) to secure the screw and prevent arm warping on the PLA base. Additionally, a small M3 washer is placed between the base and arm, and Kapton tape is used to insulate the extruder motor from the base, reducing temperature. Enjoy printing!
