MK8 Extruder Rep2 Mod
thingiverse
Experience an enhanced MK8 extruder upgrade specifically designed for the Makerbot Replicator 2. This modification replaces the conventional delrin plunger with a ball bearing, thus boosting extruder dependability while ensuring a flawless fit for your Rep2. The package includes mounting and lever parts that are compatible with the filament stepper of the Replicator 2. To print, I suggest using 2 shells with 100% infill at 0.2mm layers. For this project, you'll need a 623 bearing (3mmx10mmx4mm), a 10mm M3 grub screw, a 20mm M3 flat head screw (shortened to 18mm), a 10mm M3 flat head screw (shortened to 8mm), three wire springs from two foldback clips (preferably 20mm ALCO foldback clips), a sharp knife, some rasps, and a steady hand with patience.
