MK8 extruder mount for I3-RS 3d printer
thingiverse
Mount the MK8 extruder on your I3-RS 3D printer's X dolly. There are two versions to choose from, both designed for specific sensor types: one for a 12mm inductive sensor and another for an 18mm capacitive sensor. I'm using an 18mm diameter, 12V capacitive sensor called LJC 18A3-H-Z/BX, which is a NO (Normally Open) NPN sensor with a detection distance of 10mm. To get it working properly on Makerbase 1.6, you'll need to build a custom subboard PCB that accommodates both the sensor and rgb LED transistors. This subboard requires a few components: a 1n4148 diode, a 10kohm resistor, and three NPN 2n2222A transistors. You can find an eagle file for the board design online. To adjust your I3-RS Marlin firmware, make these changes: 1. Uncomment this line in configuration.h: `#define FIX_MOUNTED_PROBE` 2. Comment out this line in configuration.h: `//#define BLTOUCH` 3. Adjust X, Y, and Z offsets as needed 4. Modify probe points to suit your printer's specific requirements
