This is my new extruder for the MK8 gear. The gear has an outer diameter of 9mm compared to the 12mm in the MK7, which is used in the Replicator, FF, and CTC. It requires a new aluminum cooling block (bar) that holds hotends and motors. The distance between holes/nozzles will be 37mm, whereas it's 33mm in the original or 34mm for Flashforge. The 9mm gear has strong extrusion in theory, with an increase of 34% power up. Version 4.0 redesigns the mount block like FlashForge. Version 2.0 adds bearings for the imbus screw. Parts needed for assembly: Two imbus screws (3x16 or 3x14) Two flat-head screws (3x6) Two MK8 gears with an outer diameter of 9mm One new aluminum bar (block) with a distance of 37mm between nozzles Extruder in process. The bearing used for this extruder is the 623Z, 623ZZ. It has an inner diameter of 3mm, an outer diameter of 10mm, and a thickness of 4mm. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/623Z-ABEC-5-Chrome-steel-bearings-10pcs-metal-Sealed-Miniature-Mini-Bearing-free-shipping-623/32695350387.html Settings for the MK8 gear: From RepRap: Real-life measured data (tested with 1.7mm filament): Effective diameter: 6.7mm Effective circumference: 21mm Steps per mm: 152, approximately - tested with direct drive, 200 steps/rev, and 1/16th microstepping: 200 * 16 / 21 ≈ 152 From other sources: E-steps for this should be around 145.xx.
