Mk8 Extruder

I saw a design on http://www.thingiverse.com/whpthomas/designs that upgraded the extruder head and since I had problems with it, I created a derived design that fit my Replicator 1 Dual. At work, we have springs part No. 1180, which is also used in Poseidon diving equipment as a spare part. This design is meant for dual extruders, so it sticks out upwards instead of on the sides and has an adjustment screw inside the handle. I made the spring's pressure adjustable to get the best results from my prints and since then I've printed 980 hours without any feed failures. The original Solidworks files for the whole Replicator are available at http://www.thingiverse.com/tlalexander/designs, which simplified the design process. I purchased another printer, a Replicator 2x, at a low price because its previous owner had problems with it. To fit the new printer, I created a custom base that includes attachment points for filament hoses; the other parts remain the same. You can follow Whpthomas' instructions, which also work for this version. I printed the new part using Standard mode settings: 0.1 mm layer height, four shells, and 99% infill.
