Mk8/9 Extruder mount with mounting point

Ever get frustrated with Sintron Prusa or any other printer with Mk8, Mk9, or possibly even Mk10 Extruders when you can't seem to get the blower or sensor to mount properly? I know the feeling - after updating the extruder mount for both left and right side fans (the one with the mounting of the fan), I discovered a solution on Thingiverse, specifically this thing: 831864, which I modified to suit my needs. This upgrade enables you to add a blower or sensor, as well as an LED light. The design allows you to adjust along the slot using a pair of M3 screws, a washer, and a locking nut for added stability. To fit this mount perfectly, you'll need holes with a diameter of 1 cm, spaced 2 cm apart. Give me some time, and I'll add brackets to explain more about how it works. In essence, the fitting screw should be located at the top. You can see the similarities between my design and the original Sintron mount in the first photo. In contrast, the second photo showcases ample space for a blower, with approximately 5 mm of clearance - a notable improvement over the lumps found on the Sintron mount. The third photo demonstrates the inspiration behind this project: Thingiverse thing: 1090433. This design is specifically tailored for the Wanhao Duplicator i3. To create the adapter between this mount and the blower, I used photos 4 to 7 as a guide. For now, it's in transit; however, it should fit perfectly with a blower measuring 50x50x15 mm. As an additional feature, you can add a sensor for autoleveling. The large sensor fits into a hole of 18.5 mm, while the small sensor requires a 12.5 mm hole. Both sensors need support to function properly. It's ideal to adjust the sensor and clip it over the slot once it's set; then, secure it with a couple of screws. You can detach the sensor from the extruder or keep it attached while still having the blower fixed in place - all thanks to this clever design (right side). UPDATE: The last three photos are for the left-side extruder, and the corresponding STL files can be found at the end. UPDATE: On the final photo, if your stepper motor is slightly loose, tighten it as far as possible and add a 0.5 mm thick shim. Additionally, to combat overheating, wrap the motor with ptfe tape where the clamp is located. If you notice that your extruder's stepper motor is excessively hot or the current is set too high, this might be the culprit - so keep an eye out for those telltale signs. Print Settings: - Printer: Sintron Prusa - Rafts: None - Supports: None - Resolution: 0.3 mm - Infill: 40% - Notes: No fan being used. Supports are needed for all sensor brackets. Designing this project involved combining the inspiration from Thingiverse thing: 831864 with my own design in 123Design cad. The result is a functional extruder mount that incorporates multiple features, including blower and sensor mounts.
