iFeelBeta's dissolvable PLA support material has inspired me to push the limits further by utilizing dual heads on a MakerBot for an enhanced printing experience. I haven't developed a test rig yet, but initial results show promising performance. In about three weeks, firmware upgrades will be available (please bear with me as I am not an expert C++ coder). Other files, including source firmware files, will be uploaded shortly, along with printable Derlin pieces expected by Thursday morning, November 4th, 2010. Upon receiving the additional hot end for the extruder, assembly instructions are as follows: 1. Print Plate A.stl and two copies of Plate BD.stl (for plates B and D). While MakerBot printing may be challenging, a friendly version is in progress. 2. Drill holes slightly larger to accommodate M3 screws. 3. Assemble the plastic parts, similar to an old MK4/5 setup, but with Plates A, B, and D instead of acrylic. Plate A goes first, followed by B, Derlin pieces (to be posted later), and finally Plate D. Pictures and clearer instructions will be provided by Thursday.
