This text has been rewritten as follows: Lenbok suggested creating a derivative object for driving both DC and stepper motors directly. It also includes Ruttmeister's gears (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5795) to offset the steppers, along with ScribbleJ's tensioner. The instructions for assembly and required components can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6402. Although the part has not been made yet due to limited ABS supply, it has been sliced in SF without any mesh errors. The second file contains a modification to add a cleaning portal for easy access to the filament drive gear without removing the tensioner. Any errors can be reported for tweaking the file accordingly.
