MK3S Nozzle RHD Rev. C Remixed
thingiverse
This is a revised version of the exceptional [MK3 Nozzle RHD Rev. C](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3249344) by [RH_Dreambox](https://www.thingiverse.com/RH_Dreambox) designed for use with the stock MK3S extruder and optimized for FDM slicing with PrusaSlicer/Slic3r. It offers superior part cooling, especially in low-airflow situations, while avoiding direct heatblock blowing, allowing for sustained higher temperature printing on the MK3S. RH_Dreambox released a ["CS" version](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4124587) for the MK3S, but it has a different internal structure. Consider using this "CS" version if you don't want to reprint the front extruder cover. Being extremely pleased with the original and unwilling to risk anything, I decided to tweak his "C" version directly. This shroud keeps the same internal structure and blower angle as the original design. The attachment has been modified to fit a custom-made front extruder cover (included here), which has a different mounting point for the bracket (balancing weight) and removes the unnecessary side arm. Similar to my previous remix for the MK3/BMG, several tweaks have been made to the outlet vents and inner vane to resolve slicing issues with PrusaSlicer. Parts of the outer structure have also been carved out to reduce weight. Assembly: Removing the extruder cover is quick and easy. No extra parts are required; we use existing screws and nuts. The extruder cover, bracket, and optional 2x washers can be printed in PETG. The shroud itself should be printed in a heat-resistant material at 0.2 or 0.15 layers. - Unscrew the two blower screws - Slide off the blower - Unscrew and remove the bracket itself - Unscrew the two side-front screws on the Noctua fan - The old shroud will now come off - Unscrew the two long M3 screws on the front extruder cover (just under the extruder motor) - Slide-off the screws and remove the old front extruder cover - Move the thin square nut from the extruder cover (top side hole) to the new extruder cover - Place the new extruder cover and insert/screw the long M3 screws - Screw the top-left screw on the Noctua fan (the side should be flush, but be careful not to overtighten!) - Move the thin square nut from the old shroud and place it into the new one - Place the new shroud in position and then screw the bottom-left screw on the Noctua fan until the shroud is solidly in place (no tilting!) - Move the M3 nuts from the old bracket to the new bracket (push the M3 nuts fully to the bottom) - Tighten the new bracket on the front cover using the existing short M3 screw - Slide the blower into position - Optional: place the two thin M3 washers (0.2mm) between the blower and the bracket to relieve pressure on the central part of the blower, which is usually protruding - Screw the two long M3 screws on the blower (do not overtighten!)
