MK3 Zep Spool Holder, low profile
thingiverse
This project draws inspiration from MartinMajewski's spool holder found on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1832235). However, I needed to make some adjustments due to limited vertical space, requiring the design to be lower. Changes were made to his original design as follows: - The vertical was lowered by 1.5 inches. - To achieve a honeycomb effect, no zero top/bottom layers are required. - Unfortunately, this design is not suitable for multi-color printing due to its printing of shafts and spacers as part of the arms. - Edges were chamfered to hide any elephant's foot imperfections. - Smoother edges were also incorporated. The same 608ZZ bearings are utilized in this design. To assemble, print one arm from each set, four rollers, and four nuts. All parts required for assembly can be found on the MK3_Zep_SpoolHolder_Sheet, ready to be sliced into printable layers. I successfully printed the parts with a 0.8mm nozzle at 0.333 layers, resulting in a strong and durable product that took approximately 5.5 hours to complete.
