MK3 Y Axis Shift After Crash Detection 2 minute Fix
thingiverse
2-minute install. Requires an M3 x 6 and one M3 x 20. NOTE: There's now an MK3S version; you need that if you have an MK3S instead of an MK3 for proper clearances. Fixes the Y Axis shift after crash detection problem, working well for those with stock Y axis. First pic shows fix applied, second is stock. Thanks to ZeroBeast and jltx for this solution. Basically I wanted a fix for the Y-Axis shift after crash detection; you should read about it here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/issues/76 Life gets busy. Rather than pulling the motor, belts etc., I came up with a 2-screw fix and a small printed part that achieves the same result. Sharing so you can quickly and easily apply this to a stock MK3. You only need two screws for install. If you don't have an assortment of M3 screws, it's a good thing to buy; here's one I got from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZBR66J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Installation: - Remove the top screw from the Y-Axis motor mount - Place the newly printed part in place - Use a new M3 x 20 screw to secure the new part in the back - Use a very short M3 x 6 screw Verify your Y axis stops on the idler now instead of the bearing. You're good to go!
