MK3 Style Extruder for HicTop

This is an Extruder body for a HicTop prusa style printer. Specifically, I made this for my Hictop 3D P-11, but it will probably work with some others as well. The attachment plate has a belt tensioner on it making for super easy belt installation and adjustment. You will need: * Gear, Pulley and Stepper from the original extruder * Small Piece of PTFE tubing * 8 - 4x10mm Button Head Screws * 2 - 3x16mm screws * 2 - 3x20mm screws * 2 - 3x24mm screws * 2 - 3x30mm screws * 3 - 3x40MM screws * 9 - M3 Nuts * 2 - M3 Large washers * 2 - Springs * 4mm Tap (optional) If you want to attach a Bed Leveling probe like I did, you will need to tap the holes on the back of the bearing block. I wanted a better style extruder to put an actual E3D V6 hotend on my printer. The Prusa MK2/MK3 printers are great and I liked the design of the extruders, so I made one starting with those that will work with the HicTop Printer. The top part of the extruder is from the MK2 but it has been adjusted to reuse the gear and bearing that come with the extruder included with the printer. The bottom part of the extruder is from the MK3 because it uses a 40mm fan. The bed leveling sensor holder was removed and the way the part cooling fan nozzle attaches was changed. The entire thing was adjusted to attach to a plate that attaches to the bearing blocks. The parts cooling fan nozzle was adjusted to be able to swing out of the say and mount differently to allow better visibility around the hot end. This is similar to another fan nozzle somewhere on Thingiverse for the MK2 printer. *FAN NOZZLE SHOULD BE PRINTED IN PC* There is a problem after printing higher temperature items that fan nozzle will start to deform and droop, even when printed in ABS and even on the actual MK3 printer. So if you can print the fan nozzle in PC. It works GREAT. I originally printed it all in ABS with the factory extruder, once I installed it and reprinted it in PLA and PETG. The pictures are all from parts printed using this extruder. I've printed ABS, PLA, Wood PLA, PC-Max and TPU with it. No jams no problems. It assembles pretty much like the MK2 extruder, so if you need more detailed instructions then just the pictures you can use those, but some of the screw lengths are different. See the pictures for Nut placement and screw lengths. *** UPDATE *** The attachment plate has cracked a couple times on me, I even printed it in PolyMax. I probably just had too much tension on the belt. But I made a new plate that's beefier where it cracked.
