These turrets house two Mark 12.5" 38 caliber guns, and were used as the main armament of WWII-era destroyers, and as secondary armaments on various USN battleships. Its German equivalent is the older brother of the secondary guns on the Bismarck class, and similar to the ones mounted on the Yamato. These guns were used for anti-air, anti-ship, and, at times, shore bombardment.
