Updated 5/17/18 Version 3 Fed up with small bits of leaves and other debris blowing into my face every time I turn on the air in my MK2, I embarked on a mission to find a solution. I drew inspiration from Morimori's modification to his cabin air intake in his highly customized MK2 GTI. His use of an advanced filtration system had caught my eye (http://www.vwgolf-mk2.com/epollenfilterinstallation.html). However, I was unable to locate the exact filter he installed, likely due to its vintage JDM origin. Instead, I created custom filter covers and a frame that can be printed and used by anyone. To give it a unique touch, I incorporated the classic VW pattern found on early OEM parts boxes as the design for the grill. This design fits filters up to 5 mm thick, but can easily be modified to accommodate thicker ones if needed.
