MK2 / MK2 MMU LED Light mount
thingiverse
I had some LED lights in metal strips - 10mm wide, 6mm tall, and unfortunately not long enough to stretch all the way across the top of my Original Prusa i3 MK2 MMU. So I designed mounts to sit snugly in the hexagonal holes at the top of the Z axis, with a carefully offset hole for one LED strip, and a simple rectangular band to wrap securely around a pair of light strips. I printed two mounts and bands, then placed the mounts into the hexagonal holes, making sure one mount was positioned close to the printer frame while the other faced away from it. Next, I slid the LED strips into the holes, securing them with 2 of the bands. The bands held the strips together while each strip was safely held in one of the offset mounts. The offset holes were intentionally made 0.5mm larger than the light strip to ensure a smooth fit. This clever design solution worked perfectly and didn't obstruct the MMU extruders. I printed my mounts with the top side facing down on the print bed, using 0.3mm layers without supports, and sliced them in Prusa Control for a seamless finish.
