MK2 Clone r1 - Prusa i3 style complete 3D Printer
thingiverse
Complete set of STL files required to make an MK2 Clone 3D Printer - revision 1 (r1). Overall cost of build: ~200 USD + cost of printed parts. The cost can be higher if you use more expensive parts, such as stepsticks (TMC2100/TMC2208 instead of A4988), hotend (Original E3Dv6 instead of Chinese one), etc. Frame can be cut from at least 9mm thick plywood or 6mm aluminium, far more expensive but increases rigidity. After many tests, I figured out that the printer can easily print with same speeds as Original Prusa MK2s. Linear Advance is already available in Marlin for long time, so there's no problem printing 100mm/s and even more (the speed will be most likely limited by maximum extrusion rate of your hotend). The printing profile available in Slic3r Prusa Edition can be applied just as it to this printer. The only thing needed is adding the MK2Clone printer to Slic3r - setting bed size and proper retraction. If you like to experiment then you can go ahead and increase accelerations, and max speeds. Printer is designed to be built from items generally available, while Original Prusa i3 are using elements made by Prusa Research which are not available to people who don't have the Original one. All parts can be easily found on internet market, eg. Chinese auctions or eBay. I strongly recommend buying all metal parts from local stores, mostly those can be found cheaper than on auctions. This printer isn't as P&P as the Original one, but it's pretty close. While building this printer you can just open instructions from prusa manuals, and follow them.
