MK10 Extruder spring pre-tensioner
thingiverse
I was experiencing problems with my extruder slipping on the filament and resulting in under-extrusion, which became even more pronounced after adding an oiler to the filament. Rather than printing or buying a whole new adjustable extruder assembly, I decided to create a simple pre-tensioner that sits atop the existing spring to tighten its grip on the filament. This fix may not be perfect, but it was quick and effective for me. This adds 3mm of extra compression to the spring. If you need less, simply cut 1 or 2 mm from the bottom in your slicer. I suspect this will work for other extruders with similar designs that utilize the same size spring, although I have only experience with the MK10. Print Settings: Resolution: 0.1 - 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: It looks nice at 0.1mm, but I think it comes out cleaner at 0.2mm due to the way the top prints. This may just be my printer setup though.
