MK10 Extruder Mod Revised
thingiverse
I have a Qidi Tech X-One with a Micro Swiss all Metal Hot end and when trying to use SemiFlex, the filament kept pushing out the sides. I made the original version and just mirrored it because the Qidi X-One has the trigger on the left side. Either way, on the bottom gap where you place a PTFE tube to guide it to the hot end, just wouldn't sit where it was supposed to. So I decided to remix this so you no longer need the PTFE tube and the filament should be guided straight into my Micro Swiss All Metal Hot End without issue. This should work in a stock hot end as well. As you can see, thanks to this extruder mod, I was able to get this to print on the Qidi X-One with no binding or kinking issues. I find the best way to load flexible filaments is to give the lever a light press, push the filament in gently until you feel resistance. Let go over the lever and let the machine guide the filament the rest of the way. I find if you press the lever too hard, you leave a small gap for the filament to leave the extruder from under the roller and if you keep pushing the filament after the resistance, you will see the filament come out the side of the extruder under the roller and not the extruder hole it's supposed to. You need to allow the machine to gently guide the flexible filament out the extruder exit hole and into the hot end. I will look into trying to fix this flaw but this gap is caused by the lever movement and is a necessary gap for the lever to be pushed in the first place. Use the Left Trigger STL for the Qidi X-One (when pulling this into the slicer, it's blown up very large). It should be flat on its back when imported like the pictures above. From this position if the file imports larger or smaller than it should be, the X-Axis Size should be 42.53mm, Y-Axis 32.60mm, Z-Axis 15.01mm. This allows for a very slight shrinkage which Taulman 645 is perfect for. I left the Right Trigger STL for anyone else who rather use this Extruder Mod over others.
