Mk 2 Single/Dual Bowden extruder for E3D V6 or Chimera and HK Fabrikator or other RepRap
thingiverse
This is a revised take on my previously published extruder design. Although the original version worked extremely well, changing the filament proved to be a significant hassle due to the tension on the drive, which was not easily released. To overcome this problem, I've designed an updated system that still leverages the components from the original direct drive design, but with one key modification: it now allows for effortless filament release. However, please note that the construction of this revised design is slightly more complex. In my accompanying video, you'll find detailed instructions and visuals on how to assemble and utilize this upgraded extruder. If you're building a dual extruder setup or have a different 3D printer model than the Fabrikator, you will need to source specific additional parts for each extruder: * 13mm outer diameter x 5mm inner diameter bearing with matching washers * 2 x M3 x 20 bolts * 3 x M3 x 10 bolts * A spring * Nema 17 motor * 14mm hobbed pulley Consider upgrading the standard plastic Bowden feed with a high-quality brass unit, as discussed in my video. To facilitate the assembly process, please refer to the build instructions in my accompanying YouTube video (https://youtu.be/AGaviHf-3Y8). Printer Settings: **HK Fabrikator** Rafts: Not Required Supports: Enabled Resolution: .2 Infill: 40% Notes: This extruder is ideal for printing with PET or ABS filament. PLA might work, but I haven't tested it extensively.
