MJX Bugs 2 Extended Battery Door

thingiverse

This is a custom battery door designed specifically for the MJX Bugs 2W quadcopter, providing an upgrade from the standard combined battery/door assembly. The door fits seamlessly into its designated slot and secures any battery that fits within the quad's battery bay using the standard locking mechanism. This innovative design allows for the use of longer batteries, thereby extending flight time without compromise. The 3D model was created using Solidworks 2012 software, ensuring precision and accuracy. A downloadable sldprt file is included, allowing users to modify the design as needed or extend it further to suit their requirements. In terms of printing specifications, a layer height of 0.2mm and nozzle diameter of 0.4mm yielded a snug fit for this custom door when printed in ABS material. Additionally, an external 5G Wi-Fi antenna was successfully mounted on the door to enhance FPV capabilities, necessitating the installation of landing feet extensions for added height. These extensions replace the standard rubber dampeners and are secured using screws, while the original dampeners attach to the end of each extension, maintaining optimal shock absorption.
