All dressed and looking for the icing on the cake? Have you ever imagined how to complete your look but don’t know where you would find that color combination? Print your earrings on the 3D printer before you walk out the door! Balls with male and female interconnecting components fit together and connect to an earring hook. Stack different sizes and colors - whatever works! Could also work as a necklace.

The project is a distance covid collaboration between a fashion design/merchandising student and the 3D printing research lab at Marymount University in Arlington VA.

Print instructions

I just used the stock 0.20 mm Prusa Mini Profile profile with support from the build plate turned on.

After printing you can mix and match the spheres in color and size to get a unique set of earrings for whatever occasion you'd like.

Whichever sphere you want to use as the top of the earring should have a standard earring hook attached to it. I bought mine from amazon: https://tinyurl.com/y4dvxg4k

Print at 0.20 mm layer height
10-20 % infill
Support from build plate
