Mitre Box for Zona 35-500 Universal Saw
thingiverse
This is a mitre box I designed specifically for use with the "Zona 35-500 Universal Saw," which is ideal for models and miniature making. Since the online offers did not meet my needs and the existing designs on Thingiverse were incorrect in terms of dimensions, I created this design from scratch. The dimensions of the box are carefully crafted to accommodate a piece of wood that is 56mm wide and 29.4mm tall, taking into account the size of the saw blade. The kerf of the Universal Zona Saw is 0.3mm, while the gaps in the box design are 0.4mm. Depending on the accuracy of your printer, you may need to adjust the gaps after printing to ensure a precise fit for the saw. The mitre box features angles for making straight cuts, as well as 45° and 60° angled cuts. It also includes countersunk screw holes (accepting 4mm screws) that allow you to attach it securely to a workbench or clamp it into a vise using a wooden bar. Additionally, the design includes a depressed area for clamping directly onto a bench if preferred. I printed my mitre box in ABS as it is a more durable material than PLA and provides a smoother finish when cut, but you can also use PLA with this design. The model can be printed on its own or using the infill modifier as described below.
