This is a model Mitral Valve Scaffold designed for educational use. The one-way valve is strategically located between the atria and ventricles in the heart. Two versions with varying tolerances for printing are included, where Valve 2 offers a more realistic representation and Valve 1 might be simpler to print. For optimal results, it's recommended to print using flexible TPU or ninjaflex materials for added realism. Mitral valve replacement is typically performed when the valve becomes too constricted (mitral valve stenosis) to allow blood flow into the left ventricle, or excessively loose (mitral valve regurgitation), causing blood to leak back into the left atrium and then into the lungs.
