Misumi 2040 Endcap Joiners

prusaprinters

I wanted to repurpose some Misumi 2040 I had laying around from an old AM8 printer and decided I wanted to try to use it for the table of my upright Dewalt portaband saw. I tried multiple configurations ranging from using all double couplers as seen in the picture to making large single piece units to test strength. Spoiler: I did not notice much difference in strength between the smallest to the largest units nor between PLA and PETG. If anything PETG broke a little easier, as both had a small amount of deflection across the run. These have holes in the caps designed to accept a M5 bolt since I threaded the center of each of my 2040 extrusions. I must mention I have my machine dialed in pretty tight and designed these pieces to fit VERY snug to reduce as much slop or play making it as solid as possible. I recommend printing these slower and with at least 30% infill and extra walls. Once I settle on a method of attachment to my saw I'll update this more as there may be some new parts.
