Missing Man Formation Christmas Ornament
thingiverse
I designed this ornament to honor veterans during the holiday season. Many of our Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines are serving overseas right now, working hard for us. We should all think about them throughout this time. There are 4 F-22 jets in a missing man formation in this design. I created every detail of this ornament carefully using Sketchup with various add-ons (Solid Inspector, TTLib2, STL Export). If you have access to better CAD software, I recommend using it instead of Sketchup. I found an engineering diagram of the F-22 online and imported it into Sketchup. I traced all six sides of the engineering diagrams, then extruded and intersected the faces. I cleaned up the faces and vertices afterwards. For the flag part of this ornament, I used Sketchup for both the union jack and red stripes. The two flags are offset by 0.2mm to slide together perfectly. Instructions F-22: (You can print these one at a time, as they are very delicate) Mounts: Supports On Layer Height: 0.1mm Fill Rate: 30% Number of Shells: 1 The other STLs: Mounts: Supports Off Layer Height: 0.3mm Fill Rate: 20% Number of Shells: 2 After finishing all your prints, clean off any excess using an exacto knife. Your print should fit a piece of 1.75mm filament in the mount hole on the bottom side of the jet.
