# Missile Turret for 28mm Wargaming This is a versatile missile turret designed specifically for 28mm wargaming, capable of transforming into either a heavy support tank or fortification terrain. With careful assembly and painting, the missile bays on this turret can rotate smoothly around its supporting arm. To add an extra layer of realism, the design includes pockets that allow you to magnetize the end caps, switching between high explosive and wide area missiles with ease. The base pedestal plug measures 25mm in diameter, making it compatible with Games Workshop's Rhino-chassis hatches. ## Components The missile end caps can be attached using either glue or magnets. To magnetize them, you will need to acquire the following components: * 4x 1/8” steel ball bearings for the body, such as K&J Magnetics' NSB2 * 8x 1/8” by 1/16” disc magnets for the missile end caps, such as K&J Magnetics' D21 ## Printing The design of the pieces ensures that they do not require any supports during printing, with only minor bridging and overhang capabilities necessary. To achieve optimal results, print the pieces in the orientation specified in the STL files: the missile end caps should be printed flat, while the arm cap should be printed upside down. Refer to the photo in the gallery for a visual example of how to set up your printing layout using Cura. ## Assembly Before gluing any parts together, make sure to conduct a dry fit to ensure a smooth and trouble-free assembly process. 1. Attach the plug to the bottom of the base. 2. Apply a small amount of glue to the three-sided pockets on the tops of the base arms, taking care not to get any glue on the cylindrical cut where the body will be inserted. Next, place the body in the arm and then drop the cap into place on top of the arm. Hold the cap in position until the glue sets. 3. Verify that the magnets and ball bearings are sitting perfectly flush with the surface. If they're not, you may need to hand drill or scrape out the pocket to achieve a smooth fit. 4. Apply a small amount of glue to each pocket on the body and then insert the ball bearings. 5. Apply a small amount of glue to each pocket on the missile caps and then slide in the magnets. With these simple steps, your missile turret is now complete!
