Mirror Tool for scanning from your Iphone or Ipad (AnatoMask Project)

thingiverse

The mirror tool allows users to conduct a 3D scan of an object or a third person using a dedicated mobile application, directly from the front depth camera of their iPhone (X or newer version) or iPad Pro. The tool is manufactured in 3D from two open-source STL files: one containing the central part and another with the clamping screw. A file named "large grip" is designed for iPad use, while "short grip" is optimized for iPhone compatibility. A recommended filament is a 0.16mm PLA. To begin using the tool, a mirror must be added. Two options are available: A) Purchase an optical mirror from Edmund (19€), a 30x40 mm mirror with 3.20 mm thickness, available at https://www.edmundoptics.fr/p/30-x-40mm-4-6lambda-mirror/1881/ B) Create your own mirror, cut to 30x40 mm dimensions, although results may vary. Assembly involves inserting the mirror into the main part's rail. Instructions include: 1) Center the object on top of the phone or tablet with the mirror facing the front camera. 2) Tighten the mirror tool using the screw on the phone or tablet.
