This bolt is specifically crafted to fit snugly into the holes created when removing rear view mirrors on BMW S1000R motorcycles. For optimal results, I highly recommend printing it with black PLA material. One of the significant advantages of 3D printing lies in its resistance to rust, as this component serves a non-structural purpose. Initially, I opted for metal bolts but they rapidly succumbed to rust, prompting me to switch to 3D printing using my available black PLA. To produce this bolt effectively, use a layer height of 0.2mm with no supports required, and maintain 100% infill. The ideal print settings include a hot end temperature of 190C and a plate temperature of 60C. It's also essential to flip the object upside down so that the top of the bolt rests directly on the build plate. All credit for designing this innovative bolt goes to BavarianMurderWeapon, a talented individual from the motorcycle community at https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/, who generously shared their creation. I merely printed and tested the design, highlighting its effectiveness in real-world applications.
