Mirror-LED light

This is a square “ring-light”, mounted around the make-up mirror from my wife. Consisting of 6 oval tubes, 2 corners, 3 connections and 2 end-caps. The semi transparent tubes were printed in clear PETG, from a solid shape but in VASE mode. That way you get a consistent and even surface with a single perimeter. The tubes are 300 mm long and for the top horizontal tubes 315 mm. Print with 2 bottom layers, 1 perimeter and no top layers. 0.20 mm layer. I use a large brim (20 perimeters) with no separation to the model to get good adhesion. The corners, connections and end caps are in Blue Silk PLA, 0,12 mm layer Inside is a strip of 12 volt RGB + warm/cool white LED's, controlled by a Mi wireless controller, these can all be found on AliExpress in many types. The RGB is a gimmick, not needed but maybe fun.... It takes some time to install the strips straight and flush to the backside. They have strong adhesive so take care to line it up properly before you pull out the protective layer. For this construction I had just enough length that fitted in the tubes. 12 volt strips can be cut every 10 cm so take care to have enough for the mirror and length of all the tubes, keeping into account that approx. 5 cm extra is needed for every corner. A flexible metal ruler is used to gently push the led strips in the tube, where I could not reach it with my fingers. All tubes, corners and connections are glued together with 3-second glue, taking care that they are all inline and at 90 degrees.... Work from the controller, after that one is mounted/glued in the end cap and connected to the wires of the strip (TEST first!), than tube after tube install the led strips. Let the glue dry before moving to the next part or it will be failing. There is no way back! (without destruction) The controller needs to be removed from it's original box, to fit in the end-cap Some cutting is needed to fit the 2 tubes properly in the corners, cut the vertical tubes only. I also removed the bottom layers from every tube for better gluing of the LED strip. Be careful not to make sharp curves with the LED strips in the corners, that could cause disconnected lines. The whole construction is mounted with strong double sided tape to the mirror.
