Titolo: San Andrea Apostolo Church – St Francis Xavier Chapel In the lunette of the second chapel to the right of San Andrea Apostolo Church, painted by Florentine artist Sigismondo Betti around 1741, is depicted the "Miracle of the Crab." It is said that during a journey in an island of the Pacific, Saint Francis Xavier lost his crucifix at sea. A crab would have retrieved it and returned it to the religious who, having left Goa, was engaged in his first mission of evangelizer among a village of pearl fishermen, from which he continued on to Japan and towards China.
