MinV2 remix for Micro Swiss Direct Drive
thingiverse
Purchased the Micro Swiss Direct Drive kit, and wanted a light weight fan duct to offset some of the added weight of the extruder stepper motor on the X Gantry. While the two most popular fan duct replacements are really well done, only ThisjsRico's design really kept the weight to a minimum along with one of the best offsets for a BLTouch. As the Micro Swiss Direct Drive mounting plate does not have the same gap, behind the hotend, as the stock Ender 3 plate, the upward airflow design of the MinV2 did not work as well. So additional vents were cut on each side to compensate. But even with these additional vents, there was still significant back pressure felt from the fan. After seeing an interesting video on the static pressure improvements of using fan vanes, found a design created by Madau3D. This remix joins the two designs and adds in additional venting. NEW (May 5th): 1) Uploaded a cleaner fan remix labeled as v2. This should remove some of the artifacts when slicing. NEW (May 1st): 1) Added a remix of the backplate to better fit the micro swiss "square" backside 2) Added the original fan duct here for convenience. Note(s): 1) have yet to print the remixed backplate myself. (update: Printed fine but trimmed area is to thin. Needs rework) 2) Have yet to print fan remix v2. Appears much better in S3D.
