Custom Case for Adafruit MintyBoost USB Charger I've built a custom case for my trusty Adafruit MintyBoost USB charger, but unfortunately, my previous one met its demise due to prolonged battery discharge and a resulting explosion. To prevent this from happening again, I added a switch that should help mitigate the risk of over-discharging the batteries. The design also features enough space for a USB cable and allows the lid to attach without any hardware. You can check out the blue version, printed on Shapeways, here if you're interested. I've optimized this case to work with Radio Shack's switch #275-0409 and M2 or #2 screws. The micro USB cable I recommend is this one. Note that the hole for the USB connector is designed to be a bit tight, requiring some wiggling (and possibly trimming) to fit properly. This ensures that the USB lips catch on the outside, providing additional support to hold it in place. Additionally, you may need to trim the lid catches slightly to ensure a secure attachment. The hole height has been carefully spaced to accommodate the thick foam tape used to secure the circuit board. I strongly recommend wiring and installing the switch before moving on to any other steps. Getting the bottom screw in can be a bit of a challenge, but with patience and persistence, you should be able to get it done.
