Minty Printy Boost V3 Box
thingiverse
This project involves creating a customized box for a Minty Boost V3 USB Mobile Charger, as the recommended Altoids Mints Tin and other boxes had limitations. The new design aims to fit 3 batteries (for extended charge), include an LED indicator for power status, and have a switch to avoid separate battery storage. Notably, the LED has a built-in flashing circuit without requiring a current limiting resistor, which conserves current and saves space while drawing attention when the device is on. The project also utilizes OpenScad Font for a warning label at the bottom of the charger and a title on top. However, it's crucial to exercise caution with this setup as batteries and MintyBoost can get hot, potentially causing battery explosion or case melting. To minimize risks, avoid covering the case during charging, and interrupt charging if batteries become excessively hot. The printing process involves creating top and bottom parts with 25% fill, removing terminal sheathing, clipping and soldering wires to terminals, installing springs, connecting all components, laying out the batteries, and using Sugru or non-conductive epoxy putty to secure battery terminals. Please remember to use this setup at your own risk as per the warning label.
