Minke whale Spurn Point
sketchfab
A 25ft (7.5m) minke whale was discovered deceased with its tail entwined in rope and plastic trash at Spurn point early last October.\nThe Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme (CSIP) confirmed the cause of death was "consistent with a chronic entanglement" in plastic materials.\nRob Deaville, from CSIP, stated: "It's a truly heartbreaking case. I've never seen one as dire as this."\nMr. Deaville said the entanglement had severely impaired the whale's ability to dive and forage, ultimately leading to starvation."
