MiniSky-Ball
thingiverse
Introducing a preliminary Mini SkyBOT prototype, modified for ball movement, this project explores diverse motion possibilities with mini robotic platforms. RobCib_CAR UPM's Miguel Ángel de Frutos and Juan Gonzalez Gómez are behind the innovation. See video demonstration here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=frVCd3VkK7s, and learn more at http://madebyfrutos.wordpress.com/2012/05/15/mini-sky-bola/ and http://www.iearobotics.com/wiki/index.php?title=Skyball. A wheel spherical adapter is available to enhance MiniSkyBOT, simply print two and attach them to the original wheels; for better grip, insert wheels in a balloon. MiniSkyBOT design details are at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7989. Presently in preliminary tests, future updates will provide a parametric open-source scad design for wheel adaptation to various ball sizes.
