Minion Parts
thingiverse
Minions come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, each one unique and ready to be assembled into your very own army. To get started, you'll need to gather these special parts that will allow you to create complete minions from scratch. These parts should work seamlessly with standard building blocks, so feel free to mix-and-match them as you see fit. With the right combination of pieces, you can build a fully functional minion in no time. One key component is the goggle plate, which comes in several different versions (minion_2x2_goggles_plate or minion_cyclops_goggles_plate). This allows you to add goggles to your standard blocks, giving your minions a fun and futuristic look. You can even use the provided goggle eyepieces (goggle_eye_partial_front) to create a more detailed design. If you're working with standard 2x2 round bricks and plates, be sure to check if they have cut-outs for the studs. To avoid this issue, try using one-stud versions of the goggle plates (minion_2x2_goggles_single_stud_top or minion_cyclops_goggles_single_stud_top), along with their corresponding tops (minion_2x2_single_stud_head_top and variants). The minion bottom is a great place to get creative, as it allows you to position the legs in the middle of the minion instead of at the back. The bottoms will fit perfectly with 1x1 round bricks, and we've also included feet for added detail. When it comes to the arms and hands, keep in mind that they're designed to be quite small at this scale. While they can be a bit tricky to attach, good prints and some cleanup should do the trick. If you plan on handling your minions frequently, consider gluing the hands in place for extra security. Alternatively, we've also provided integrated hand-and-arm versions (minion_skinny_arm_with_hand_left_support and minion_skinny_arm_with_hand_right_support), which can be printed with multicolor designs if you have that capability. If you're working with a 3D printer that allows color changes at the layer height, consider using our integrated head and goggles versions (ones that start with minion_top or minion_cyclops_top). These will give your minions an extra touch of realism. Our design source is SCAD, which uses internal parameters to generate even more variety in the building bricks.
