Minion Goggles Lens Adapter
thingiverse
I stumbled upon minion goggles and couldn't resist printing them! I crafted these adapter discs to mount prescription lenses into the goggles, and now they're ready for use. Next step: turning them into functioning safety goggles! These adapters are designed specifically for 43mm circular lenses. I sourced the lenses from Zenni Optical and removed them from old glasses to repurpose them for this project. To assemble the adapters, insert one bevel in place with a lay lens, then add a second bevel facing down to "capture" the lens. Secure it with hot glue (carefully avoiding the lens itself). Later, I plan a full-scale rebuild to minimize or eliminate glue altogether. For now, though, this setup gets me a working pair of goggles. You'll need four of these adapters. They're designed to work seamlessly with Thingiverse's http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:172157 and fit perfectly together. Print Settings: * Printer: Monoprice Maker Select i3v2 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 25% * Notes: Use a concentric outer fill with hex internal structure for the top and bottom layers (just a few layers, as this project is only 3mm thick).
