These days, all new extruders - J-head, E3D, Makerbot, and more - come equipped with a separate fan that cools the upper parts of the extruder. After fixing my 4th plug in an eve, I realized that I really needed this as well. It took just 15 minutes to make and print, but here it is for others to use too. Print the mount, secure hex nuts by carefully pushing or knocking them into place, push the mount through the main screws, attach the fan, and enjoy trouble-free printing! To power both the normal fan and the extruder cooler, I created a Y-split cable using JST plugs from eBay. Simply search for "2 pin JST" and you'll find them. If you're enclosing your Ultimaker for ABS printing, this is especially useful to prevent overheating but it also allows you to safely increase print temperatures beyond what's normally recommended.
